Bone Grafting and GTR
Periodontal regeneration and bone grafting is performed where there is vertical bone loss around teeth and/or there is bone loss in between the roots of the molars. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia in order to bring back the lost bone around teeth.
Different types of bone graft materials are available and can be used to achieve the optimum result. Growth factors and regenerative proteins have been used to improve the result. A membrane is used to enhance the bone formation around the tooth. The attached pictures show the bone loss around the tooth and the ultimate result in the radiograph.
